Over the next six years, Schriner established six school gardens that serve as real-world classrooms, started an ecoliteracy program for all students, and facilitated student research that is making tangible changes in the district's food program. "This garden is not so much about plants as it is about working on relationships...it's about community in every way" says Schriner.
